Shaping Your Future

Have you ever wondered why so few people achieve financial success? The goverment tells us that only 1% of the people reaching the age of 65 are considered wealthy. Only 3% are financially independent, and a mere 16% have some savings! The remaining 80% are living lives of quiet desperation. They are dependent on family and freinds just for subsistence, or carve out an existence on what little they receive from Socail Security, and other small pension plans.

How can this be? If we live in one of the richest nattions in the world, Why are only a handful of people achieving any lasting success? Doesn't the free enterprise system reward hard work and determination?

You may know people who say that the system works for others, they are different. They feel that being a member of a minority, not having a college education, or not coming from the "right" kind of faimly is holding them back. I could right volumes on excuses people use for not succeeding.

What these people don't know is that in order to succeed they need to take responsibility for their own life, and stop blaming outside circumstances for their lack of success. They don't understand that as long as they hide behind a wall of excuses, they will never enjoy the abundance this beautiful country has to offer.

Remember this, THE PAST DOES NOT EQUAL THE FUTER. This is important because it means that what ever you have been in the past has NOTHING to do with who you can become in the future.

You see, I didn't come from the "right" kind of family. I didn't graduate from college, and I don't have movie-star looks. But you know what? I'm me, and I'm happy and thankful for everything I have. I don't need to look for excuses to explain way I can't do something. I believe you can accomplish ANYTHING you set your mind to. More to come.
